Growing up professionally in the digital world I’ve broadened my skills in areas that weren’t previously a core competency. Managing and maintaining websites like www.achatespower.com (on Wordpress) evolved into creating and maintaining additional sites (on Squarespace). In 2021 I crossed over from being amateur (i.e. just helping out) and received my Squarespace Circle status, for designing and managing www.comprehensivecarbon.com, www.h-ope-wg.com, and others. I continue to provide counsel and strategy for a variety of additional websites ranging from a trade group, a local church, and a photography business.

Social and Digital Media

Social and digital media was once a Wild West of opportunity, where first movers would make news by hosting a press conference on Facebook. The Wild West has been tamed to some degree, but what still remains important is to know why it matters, what you should be doing, and where to spend your resources.

I’ve launched a North American car brand’s social media presence across multiple platforms, run a home remodeling influencer program, and performed media audits for a global financial institution. I’ve also advised many companies to stay away from platforms.

Effectively reaching your audience requires an understanding of how and why to leverage SEO, recognizing the appropriate balance of owned and earned media, and knowing where to spend your money.
